Ship a Pallet to Slovenia

Slovenia is the nearest foreign destination for pallet shipping: from the Fernetti border crossing just outside Trieste, the Slovenian motorway reaches Ljubljana in little more than an hour. Italy is the country's second largest trading partner in the European Union, with trade worth more than ten billion euros a year. Metallurgy comes first, steel and aluminium for the steelworks in Jesenice, Ravne and Štore. Then come machinery, vehicles and components for the Renault plant in Novo Mesto, where the electric Twingo has been built since 2026, and for the pharmaceutical giants Krka and Lek. Aquafil spins yarn in Ljubljana and CECOMP of Turin presses car body parts in Mirna Peč. Between suppliers and plants, one or two pallets at a time travel every day, and that is exactly the job the Europacco pallet service was built for: pallets of up to 600 kg, collected in any Italian region and delivered from Koper to Maribor, for companies and private customers alike.

From €176,40 for a standard Euro pallet (80×120 cm).

Ship a Pallet to Slovenia

What a pallet to Slovenia costs, from Koper to Maribor

Distance from the border does not affect the price. Whether the pallet stops in Koper, half an hour from Trieste, or travels on to Maribor at the far end of the country towards Austria, the price is the same and appears in the order form as soon as weight, dimensions and both addresses are filled in. For a standard Euro pallet (80×120 cm) it starts at €176,40, pickup in Italy and delivery in Slovenia included.

Maximum dimensions: 150 × 150 × 200 cm (sum of the three sides max. 400 cm)

Maximum weight: 600 kg

From Fernetti onto the Slovenian A1, the motorway that crosses the whole country

The pallet enters Slovenia at Fernetti, the heavy goods crossing on the A4 beyond Trieste, and joins the A1, the motorway that cuts diagonally across the country: Postojna, Ljubljana, Celje and Maribor as far as the Austrian border at Šentilj, with the branch to Koper and its port. From Ljubljana the A2 runs to Novo Mesto and on to Croatia, while in the north-east the A5 leads to Lendava, where the country borders Hungary. Shippers in Friuli or Veneto have the destination plant closer than many Italian cities; from Milan it is a day's drive.

Slovenian logistics revolves around Ljubljana, with the BTC warehouses and the new Zalog centre on the motorway ring, and around the port of Koper, the largest container port on the Adriatic, which also serves Austria and Central Europe. Celje is the hub of central Slovenia, Novo Mesto the centre for cars and pharmaceuticals, Velenje the home of household appliances. Whether Koper, Ljubljana or Maribor, the pallet reaches its destination in 6-8 working days.

Fernetti used to be a customs post, today the pallet crosses the border without any customs formalities. The only paper travelling with it is the DDT you print after payment.

The supply chains that fill pallets between Italy and Slovenia

Traffic between the two countries is industry supplying industry, alongside a growing food market and a return flow of timber and furniture. The most common cases:

Steel, aluminium and machine tools for Slovenian steelworks

Metallurgy is the largest item in Italian exports to Slovenia and is growing fast. Slovenia imports much of the steel it processes, and the SIJ steelworks in Jesenice and Ravne, Štore Steel near Celje and the aluminium group Impol in Slovenska Bistrica receive semi-finished products, profiles and components from Italy. Italian machine tool builders, grouped under UCIMU, present their equipment to Slovenian workshops through dedicated trade missions and at the MIS industrial fair in Celje in April: spare parts and machine assemblies travel by pallet.

Components for the electric Twingo from Novo Mesto

In Novo Mesto, Revoz builds the new Twingo E-Tech for the Renault group and has added a second shift to keep up with demand. In nearby Mirna Peč, CECOMP of Turin produces pressings and body parts for the plant. Italian suppliers of components, fasteners, technical packaging and equipment ship pallets along the A2 into the Dolenjska region, where a single pallet arrives when a full load is not justified.

Packaging and spare parts for the pharmaceutical industry

Krka, headquartered in Novo Mesto, has revenues above two billion euros and has just installed sixteen new packaging lines; Lek, part of the Sandoz group, is investing in new facilities in Lendava, Mengeš and Ljubljana. Packaging materials, line components and laboratory supplies from Italy reach these plants by pallet, with the delivery precision that pharmaceuticals demand.

Household appliances and televisions in Velenje

Gorenje, now part of the Hisense group, manufactures household appliances in Velenje and, since 2021, televisions for the whole of Europe. Italian electrical and electronic components are among the growing export items to Slovenia, and the Velenje plant north of Celje is a regular destination for pallets from the provinces of Brescia, Treviso and Varese.

Coffee, food and Ljubljana's hospitality trade

Italy is Slovenia's second largest food supplier, at more than 570 million euros a year, and Italian coffee is second only to Brazilian. Roasters, wineries and producers ship pallets to importers and distributors in Ljubljana and Maribor, with two fixed dates in the calendar: GAST Expo in Ljubljana in February for the hospitality trade and AGRA in Gornja Radgona in August for the food sector.

Timber and furniture, in both directions

Italy is the biggest buyer of Slovenian sawn timber, and the country's sawmills ship to Italian furniture factories. In the opposite direction, Italian furniture, lighting and interior components travel to Slovenian retailers, with the Ambient fair in Ljubljana in November as the industry meeting point. This two-way traffic keeps the lines full all year round.

Questions about pallet shipping to Slovenia

How do I give a Slovenian address correctly?

The postcode has four digits and comes before the town name: 1000 Ljubljana, 2000 Maribor, 3000 Celje, 6000 Koper. The house number follows the street name, for example Prešernova ulica 16. Use the Slovenian town name, as it appears on the courier's maps.

Does Europacco deliver to the port of Koper and to the industrial zones near the border?

Yes. Koper, Sežana and Nova Gorica are a few kilometres from Italy and are covered like the rest of the country. For deliveries to forwarders, terminals or port warehouses, give the exact company name, a reference and a phone number so the driver knows where to report.

Does Europacco deliver the pallet straight to the factory, for example in Novo Mesto or Velenje?

Yes. The plants in Novo Mesto, Velenje, Jesenice, Ravne and the Celje industrial zone are regular destinations. For factories with fixed goods-in hours, add the department or contact person to the address: the driver delivers to the point you specify.

Can I have tiles or furniture bought in Italy delivered to Slovenia as a private customer?

Private customers can use the Europacco pallet service without restrictions. One example is buying from a dealer in Friuli or Veneto: tiles, a kitchen or bathroom fittings for a renovation travel on a pallet straight to the address in Slovenia.

Ottima gestione.
