Ship a Pallet to Hungary

Around 1,800 Italian companies are based in Budapest, and more than 2,500 across the country: trade, real estate, over three hundred manufacturers. Around them runs an economy built on the car industry, with Audi in Győr, Mercedes in Kecskemét and BMW in Debrecen, which buys more industrial machinery from Italy than from any country except Germany. The Europacco pallet service covers this route with pickup anywhere in Italy and delivery across Hungary, for pallets up to 600 kg of components, machinery, wine, food or trade fair goods, for businesses and private customers alike.

From €183,45 for a standard Euro pallet (80×120 cm).

What determines the price of a pallet to Hungary

Two things: how much the pallet weighs and how big it is. Enter weight, dimensions and addresses in the order form and the price appears at once, with no quote to wait for. For a standard Euro pallet (80×120 cm) it starts at €183,45, pickup in Italy and delivery anywhere in Hungary included, from Budapest to the plants of the eastern plain.

Maximum dimensions: 150 × 150 × 200 cm (sum of the three sides max. 400 cm)

Maximum weight: 600 kg

For an oversized pallet, request a custom quote.

How a pallet gets to Hungary: the M1 from Vienna to Budapest

The pallet crosses Austria and enters Hungary at Hegyeshalom, on the M1 motorway linking Vienna and Budapest. This is the country's backbone: along it lie Győr, home to one of the largest engine plants in the world, and the logistics parks of Székesfehérvár and the Budapest area.

The capital is the centre of Hungarian distribution: more than half of the country's logistics space sits around the M0, the Budapest ring motorway, from which motorways run south to Kecskemét and Szeged and east to Debrecen. Delivery typically takes 6-8 working days and covers the whole country, from the industrial zones of Transdanubia to the towns of the Great Plain.

Italy and Hungary are both in the European Union: no duties, no customs declaration. All you need is the transport document (DDT) you receive after payment.

Who the Italy-Hungary pallet service works for

Hungary imports technology and components from Italy above all, and in recent years a great deal more wine and food. The most common cases:

Components and equipment for the big car plants

The automotive sector accounts for almost a third of Hungarian manufacturing output and over a fifth of exports: Audi in Győr, Mercedes in Kecskemét, BMW in Debrecen with its new electric plant, Suzuki in Esztergom and more than 600 suppliers around them, such as Lear, which employs 3,500 people in Győr working directly for Audi. Italian components travel by pallet to these industrial parks: production batches, moulds, tooling, spare parts for the lines and material for the new plants tied to electrification. The same supply chain continues to the plants in the Czech Republic and Poland.

Industrial machinery from Italy's districts

Italy is Hungary's second largest supplier of machinery after Germany, and Hungarian imports of specialised machines are growing fast. Packaging machinery, machines for wood, metal and plastics, spare part assemblies and automation leave the districts of Emilia, Lombardy and Veneto for the plants in Győr, Székesfehérvár, Kecskemét and Miskolc. The sector meets in May at Industry Days and Automotive Hungary in Budapest.

Spare parts and supplies for Italian manufacturers in Hungary

Prysmian runs two cable factories, in Balassagyarmat and Kistelek, and is the country's leading maker of energy cables. Like the three hundred and more other Italian manufacturers in Hungary, it receives spare parts, equipment and samples from head office, travelling one or two pallets at a time, collected at the Italian site and delivered straight to the plant.

Supplies for pizzerias, gelato shops and importers in Budapest

At SIRHA Budapest, Central Europe's leading food and HORECA fair, Italy was guest country in 2026 with a collective stand devoted to Italian pizza and gelato. Ovens, dough mixers, flour, gelato ingredients, wine and preserves leave by pallet for restaurants, importers and HORECA distributors in the capital.

Farm machinery for the Hungarian plain

Hungary is one of Europe's great granaries and supplies maize and wheat to Italian livestock farms and mills. Italian farm machinery travels the other way: soil tillage equipment, spare parts and components for the farms of the plain, with the January date of AGROmashEXPO, the country's largest agricultural fair, where the ICE agency promotes the presence of Italian manufacturers.

What shippers ask about pallets to Hungary

How much does a pallet to Budapest cost?

For a standard Euro pallet (80×120 cm) from €183,45, pickup in Italy and delivery included. Budapest, Győr or Debrecen cost the same: the price depends on the weight and dimensions of the pallet and you see it straight away in the order form at the top of the page.

How do I write a delivery address in Hungary?

The Hungarian postcode has four digits and comes before the town name, for example 1052 Budapest. In Budapest the two middle digits indicate the district, so the code must be copied exactly. The street name is followed by the street type (utca, út, tér) and the number, as in Váci utca 10. Accented letters such as ő or ű can be written as o and u, the address stays readable for the driver.

Can I ship wine by pallet to a Hungarian importer?

Yes, it is one of the most frequent shipments. Wine and spirits are excise goods: the recipient in Hungary must be a registered operator entitled to receive them, such as an importer or an authorised distributor. For this kind of shipment, agree the necessary paperwork with your Hungarian customer beforehand.

How many days does delivery to Hungary take?

The pallet is delivered in around 6-8 working days from pickup, in Budapest as well as in the industrial zones of Győr, Kecskemét or Debrecen. For a fair at Hungexpo or a delivery on a fixed date, allow a few days' margin.

Does Europacco ship pallets to private customers in Hungary too?

Yes. Typical cases are people moving to Budapest for work who ship furniture and personal belongings by pallet, or Italian-Hungarian families having furniture and bulky items sent over from Italy. Pickup works from a private address too, as long as the pallet is accessible to the driver.

Hungary uses the forint: does that change anything for the shipment?

No. Hungary is in the EU like Italy, so no duties and no customs declaration. The different currency has no bearing on the shipment, which you pay for online in euros. The only document is the DDT, which you receive after payment and attach to the pallet.
