Ship a Pallet to the Czech Republic

Some of the largest Italian factories abroad stand between Prague and Ostrava: Brembo makes brake calipers in Ostrava, Iveco Bus builds more buses in Vysoké Mýto than any other plant in Europe, Brazzale produces Gran Moravia cheese in Litovel. Around them work more than 3,000 Italian companies and an automotive industry that draws components, moulds and machinery from Italy's industrial districts. Much of this supply travels not as full loads but by the pallet: spare parts, samples, components, one or two pallets at a time. That is exactly what the Europacco pallet service is for: pickup anywhere in Italy, delivery across the Czech Republic, up to 600 kg per pallet, for businesses and private customers alike.

From €183,45 for a standard Euro pallet (80×120 cm).

Ship a Pallet to the Czech Republic

What it costs to ship a pallet to the Czech Republic

You see the price before you order: weight, dimensions and the two addresses in the form above are all it takes. For a standard Euro pallet (80×120 cm) it starts at €183,45, pickup in Italy and delivery in the Czech Republic included. Whether the pallet goes to Prague, to a logistics park on the D1 or to a plant in Moravia makes no difference: weight and size set the price, not the destination within the country.

Maximum dimensions: 150 × 150 × 200 cm (sum of the three sides max. 400 cm)

Maximum weight: 600 kg

For an oversized pallet, request a custom quote.

From Italy to the Czech Republic along the D1

The pallet crosses Austria and enters the country from the south through two main gateways: from Linz towards České Budějovice and Prague, or from Vienna towards Brno. From there it follows the rhythm of Czech logistics, which revolves around the D1, the motorway linking Prague, Brno and Ostrava, where almost all the country's large logistics parks are located.

Prague concentrates the national distribution warehouses. Brno is the sorting point for Moravia and the gateway to Slovakia and Hungary. Ostrava serves the heavy industry of the north-east, a few kilometres from Silesia and Poland. In the west, Plzeň on the D5 is the industrial zone closest to Germany. Delivery typically takes 7-9 working days and covers the whole country, including industrial areas outside the cities.

Italy and the Czech Republic are both in the European Union: no duties, no customs declaration. All you need is the transport document (DDT) you receive after payment.

What travels on pallets between Italy and the Czech Republic

Italian exports to the Czech Republic are mostly industry supplying industry. The most common cases:

Components for the Czech automotive supply chain

The car industry is the heart of the Czech economy: Škoda in Mladá Boleslav, Hyundai in Nošovice, Toyota in Kolín and hundreds of suppliers clustered around the plants. Brembo is one of them, producing calipers and aluminium brake components in Ostrava for Audi, BMW, Porsche and Mercedes. Italian makers of components, moulds and tooling send production batches, samples and urgent spare parts by pallet to the supplier parks, where a single pallet arrives when a full load is not justified.

Machinery, spare parts and semi-finished metal products

Machinery and metallurgy are the two largest items in Italian exports to the country, over a billion euros each. From the engineering districts of Lombardy, Emilia and Veneto come metalworking machines, packaging lines, spare part assemblies and steel and aluminium semi-finished products for the plants in Plzeň, Brno and Ostrava.

Supplies from head office to Italian-owned plants in Czechia

Iveco Bus in Vysoké Mýto, Brazzale in Litovel, Mapei, Beghelli, SIAD: many Italian groups manufacture in the Czech Republic and receive spare parts, equipment, consumables and samples from Italy. These are recurring shipments of one or two pallets at a time, where pickup at the Italian site and delivery straight to the plant cut out intermediate steps.

MSV in Brno: the trade fair for Italian industry in Central Europe

Every October Brno hosts MSV, the largest industrial fair in Central Europe, where the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce organises an Area Italia for Italian exhibitors. Machines, components and stand material arrive by pallet directly at the exhibition grounds: pickup on a fixed date leaves room to plan the set-up.

Wine and food for Prague's restaurant scene

Prague is one of the most visited capitals in Europe and Italian cuisine is at home there. Wineries and food producers ship pallets to importers and specialist distributors who supply restaurants, wine shops and delicatessens in Prague and Brno, with a peak ahead of SALIMA, the food fair in Brno.

Pallet shipping to the Czech Republic: questions and answers

How long does it take to deliver a pallet to the Czech Republic?

Usually 7-9 working days from pickup, in Prague as well as in the industrial zones of Moravia and Czech Silesia. For a stand build-up at MSV or a line stoppage, allow a few days' margin.

Is the price different for Prague and the rest of the Czech Republic?

No. The price depends on the weight and dimensions of the pallet, not on where in the country it goes: Prague, Brno, Ostrava or an industrial zone outside town cost the same. For a Euro pallet 80×120 cm it starts at €183,45, pickup in Italy and delivery included.

How do I write a Czech address?

The postcode has five digits in two blocks, for example 110 00 Praha 1. Many addresses carry two building numbers separated by a slash, such as Vodičkova 704/36: include both, because the first identifies the building and the second its position on the street. Use the Czech city name (Praha, Brno, Plzeň, Ostrava) and, for business deliveries, add a contact name and phone number.

Does Europacco deliver directly to Czech factories?

Yes. The industrial zones around Mladá Boleslav, Kolín, Plzeň, Brno and Ostrava are regular destinations. For plants with fixed goods-in hours it helps to add the department or contact person to the address, so the driver knows who to ask for on arrival.

Can I ship a pallet to Prague as a private customer?

Yes. Italians in Prague go back a long way, the city's Congregazione Italiana dates from the sixteenth century, and people who move there for work today often ship furniture and personal belongings by pallet instead of organising a full removal. Pickup works from a private address too, as long as the pallet is accessible to the driver.

Do I need an invoice or customs paperwork for the Czech Republic?

No. Italy and the Czech Republic are both in the EU: no duties and no customs declaration, whatever is on the pallet. The country uses the koruna rather than the euro, but that changes nothing for the shipment. The only document is the DDT, which you receive after payment and attach to the pallet.
