Ship a Pallet to Slovakia

No country in the world builds more cars per head than Slovakia: Volkswagen in Bratislava, Stellantis in Trnava, Kia in Žilina, Jaguar Land Rover in Nitra and, from 2027, Volvo in Košice, almost a million vehicles a year and hundreds of suppliers clustered around the plants. More than 400 Italian companies work in this supply chain: Brovedani in Galanta, Marelli in Kechnec, Meta System in Trnava, and outside the car industry Immergas in Poprad and Technogym in Malý Krtíš. Every week components, moulds, spare parts and samples travel to these plants, almost always one or two pallets at a time rather than a full load. Shipments like these are what the Europacco pallet service is designed for. It collects pallets of up to 600 kg anywhere in Italy and delivers them across Slovakia, to factories and private addresses alike.

From €183,45 for a standard Euro pallet (80×120 cm).

Ship a Pallet to Slovakia

A pallet to Bratislava or to Košice: the price is the same

Slovakia stretches more than 400 kilometres from west to east, but geography does not affect the price of a pallet. Enter weight, dimensions and the two addresses in the order form and the price appears at once: for a standard Euro pallet (80×120 cm) it starts at €183,45, pickup in Italy and delivery in Slovakia included. A logistics park on the edge of Bratislava and a factory in the east of the country cost the same.

Maximum dimensions: 150 × 150 × 200 cm (sum of the three sides max. 400 cm)

Maximum weight: 600 kg

For an oversized pallet, request a custom quote.

Through Austria to the Danube, then along the D1

The pallet travels up from Italy through Austria and crosses the border at Kittsee, where the Austrian motorway joins the Slovak network directly, just a few kilometres from the centre of Bratislava. The capital is a rare case in Europe: it borders both Austria and Hungary, and its logistics area has grown along the two motorways leading out of the city. On the D2 heading north lies the Lozorno park with the warehouses of CEVA, Faurecia and Whirlpool and the Möbelix distribution centre. On the D1 heading east come Senec, then Trnava with the Stellantis plant and, further on, Žilina with Kia.

The D1 is the backbone of the country and the pallet follows it all the way to Košice, where industry is concentrated in the Kechnec and Valaliky parks, a few kilometres from the Hungarian border. In the centre of the country, Poprad and Banská Bystrica serve the factories of inland Slovakia. Door to door, it takes 6-8 working days. North of Žilina you enter the Czech Republic: the engines built by Kia also supply the Hyundai plant in Nošovice, just over the border.

Crossing Austria and the border at Kittsee involves no customs formalities either. The only document you need is the DDT you receive after payment.

Who receives pallets from Italy in Slovakia

Italian exports to Slovakia consist largely of components, machinery and metals bound for the factories. Alongside industry, however, a consumer market is growing that asks for Italian products. The most common cases:

The automotive supply chain, from Bratislava to Košice

Five carmakers and around 370 suppliers make Slovakia one of the densest automotive clusters in Europe. From Italy come mechanical and electronic components, steel and aluminium parts, moulds and tooling for the supplier parks. Some of the recipients are Italian themselves: Brovedani makes precision components in Galanta, Marelli electronics and engine components in Kechnec, Meta System on-board chargers for electric cars in the Trnava area. A pallet of spare parts or samples arrives directly at the plant warehouse.

Italian-owned plants far from the capital

Not everything is concentrated around Bratislava. Immergas makes boilers in Poprad, below the Tatra mountains, and has passed the two million mark. Technogym builds fitness equipment in Malý Krtíš, in the south of the country, in the group's only plant outside Italy. Both receive components, equipment and consumables from head office, recurring shipments of one or two pallets where pickup at the Italian site and delivery straight to the factory cut out intermediate steps.

Wine and food for Bratislava

Italian food and drink exports to Slovakia are worth over 245 million euros a year, and Italian wine accounts for almost a third of the country's wine imports, second only to Hungarian. Importers and distributors in Bratislava receive wine, coffee, pasta, baked goods and confectionery by pallet, with a peak in September, when the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) holds its Food & Wine workshop in the capital for Italian producers and Slovak buyers.

Furniture and design for the Nitra fair

Every spring Nitra hosts Nábytok a bývanie, the furniture and living fair, where Italian manufacturers exhibit too. Furniture, furnishing components and stand material arrive by pallet at the Agrokomplex exhibition grounds, and throughout the year the country's furniture retailers stock up from Italy's furniture districts.

Metals and semi-finished products for heavy industry

Steel, aluminium and copper are among the top items in Italian exports to Slovakia. Semi-finished products, profiles and metal components leave the industrial districts of Lombardy, Veneto and Brescia for the workshops of Žilina, Trnava and Košice, home to the city's large steelworks.

Pallet shipping to Slovakia: questions and answers

Does a pallet to Košice take longer than one to Bratislava?

The east takes a little longer because of the distance. Bratislava, Trnava and the logistics parks in the west sit at the lower end of the 6-8 working days, Košice and the Kechnec parks towards the upper end. For a stand build-up at the Nitra fair, plan a few days in reserve.

What goes into a Slovak delivery address?

The postcode has five digits written in two blocks and comes before the town, for example 811 08 Bratislava or 040 01 Košice. Many addresses carry two building numbers separated by a slash, such as Dunajská 4441/24: the first identifies the building, the second its position on the street, and both should be included. If the address has only one number, that is the one the driver needs.

Does Europacco deliver to the industrial parks of Lozorno, Senec and Kechnec?

Yes. The logistics parks along the D2 and the D1 and the industrial zones around the car plants regularly receive pallets from Italy. For warehouses with fixed goods-in hours it helps to add the department or contact person and a phone number, so the driver knows who to ask for on arrival.

Do private individuals ship pallets to Bratislava too?

It works for private customers just as it does for companies, and it happens often. Many Italians work in Bratislava, Trnava or Žilina for automotive suppliers, and anyone moving there for a few years takes furniture and household goods along on a pallet.
